The Real Truth About Internet Marketing

Online web marketing is a double edged sword. It can make you wealthy or it can put you into bankruptcy. The road you ultimately go down, is entirely up to you.

I personally know that you can make a very good living online. It is no longer a fad, but a big part of the future of our society. However, like with any business, you must invest both time and money back into your online business to see results. You can’t just sit back in your favorite furniture recliners and expect to become wealthy.

Of course there are countless stories of people who make thousands of dollars every month, and they love to boast about how they only need to work an hour a day. What they don’t tell you, is all the hard work and sacrifices it took them to get to that point. They can’t tell you this, because it is a big mistake to tell any prospect in the money making niche they will have to work hard. This has been proven to be lethal to sales. Once people find out a program will require hard work, they are instantly turned off, even if it does in fact work as promised.

Believe me when I tell you, you won’t spend $27 on an ebook and start making $10,000 a month within a week. It takes many months and years of hard work to become successful online. Each ebook you buy or seminar you attend is a way of building your knowledge of the online marketing business. It is an investment in yourself and your business. You will never find a course that will teach you everything you need to know. You learn this business through experience and education.

The biggest mistake any new marketer can make is to treat their online business as a hobby. The only real way to become successful is to invest your time and money wisely, work hard and sacrifice. When you hit roadblocks along the way, you must always find ways around them. All successful people do this. As you move along the road to success, you will find it is lined with quitters along the way, but determination and a never say die attitude is what will save you from a similar fate.

Why You Need To Use Visuals To Grab New Customers

Nowadays if a person is looking for romance, they might use an online dating service such as Match.com. To use one of these online dating services, you first register your account with them and then setup your profile. In your profile you tell a little about yourself, such as smoker/nonsmoker, drink/don’t drink, kids/don’t want kids … and so on.

Now, here’s what baffles me: many people don’t even bother to include a picture of themselves in their profile! I mean, yeah I know, looks shouldn’t matter and a person’s personality is what’s really important. But let’s be serious; looks do matter as that is what gets our attention … especially us men!

If you don’t include your picture of yourself in your profile, not many people are going to bother checking you out. I don’t care if you are the greatest person around – most people won’t bother reading your profile if they don’t see a photo.

Note: If you are going to upload a photo to your profile, be sure to use a favorable picture of yourself. Don’t just add any ol’ photo for the sake of adding a photo!

We humans are visual creatures that want and need visual stimulation. Your potential date on Match.com needs to imagine themselves being with you before they will even think of contacting you. And don’t kid yourself — online dating is a form of advertising. The difference is that instead of trying to sell a product, you’re trying to ‘sell’ yourself!

So what do you think would happen if you decided to include a short video of yourself in your Match.com profile? In your video you could talk a little about yourself, your likes, your dislikes … what you’re looking for in a companion. If you present yourself as genuine and sincere, your video will make people feel as though they already know you.

Don’t you think that would get a potential dates attention? Don’t you think that the people who responded to your ad would be much more compatible with you then if you didn’t include the video? Isn’t that what marketing is all about – getting targeted traffic to see what you have to offer?

How well do you think your dating ad with a video would do as compared to a dating ad without? It would do a lot better, right?

Advertising products and services on the internet is no different. People respond to visual aids much better then plain text. Suppose you have an exciting new product that you want to tell your potential customers all about.

This new product is a bit complicated and technical to use, so you need to explain it properly for your potential customer. You could try to explain it with a text article … or you could create a video of the product being used. Don’t you think that would be much more effective?

I mean, which would you rather see:

A 6 page ad telling you about it?

-or-

A video demo of a new product?

Of course, you would rather watch the video. Who wouldn’t? Just like you would rather watch a baseball game on tv instead of reading about it the next day in the newspaper.

Now it’s time to apply online video advertising to your business!
